Welcome! We are a global community dedicated to practicing our motto, “Let Love Lead”. We adhere to the belief that Divine Love connected us with our uniquely special Chow Chow. The ancient wisdom inherent in each of them gives us the opportunity to learn from them ways we can be better people.

The creation of our Chow Chow Tales website is to have a place of our very own, to share stories, experiences and resources that align with our purpose, to inspire better relationships with our Chow Chows, and to support each other in making the world a better place for all creatures who live here.

We extend a special invitation to our Facebook and Instagram followers, and YouTube channel subscribers to join us here.

Hawaii was the ideal place to go to help heal my broken heart after saying goodbye to my beloved Chow Chow, Koa Bear. For twelve and a half years, we were by each other’s side, every day, for everything. There was nowhere I could go near home that wasn’t emotional for me. We had explored everywhere together. Hawaii was a place that Koa and I had no memories to share. Emotionally, that was a safe place for me. The grounding energy of the Lava slowed me down even more than the weight of grief. It took me over a week to feel a little spark for life again. The Lava was whispering to me, “Listen. Be still, and listen. There is no need to solve or work on anything. Simply, be for now.” … and so I did. I hope you enjoy these beautiful scenes from a magical place. May this video help you breathe a little deeper and find a peaceful place within your heart to rest for a while.

“Let Love Lead” ~ Joy Taylin

Meet Joy Taylin, creator of Chow Chow Tales on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and owner of The Shandy Shoppe on Etsy, all inspired by a little rescue Chow Chow named Shandy and Joy’s happy Chow-girl, Koa Bear.

Joy got Koa as a puppy and they enjoyed an easy, fun three years together before their lives took an unexpected turn.

Then came Shandy.

A kill shelter. A chance meeting. A fairy tale ending. Joy and Shandy were two parts of one soul who found each other. Together, they faced their fears. Shandy’s special needs presented an opportunity for Joy to gain a profound understanding of the transformative power of unconditional love. With Joy’s persistent commitment combined with Koa’s good nature, they helped Shandy trust again.

Joy combines her spiritual approach to life, love of nature, and her passion for Chow Chows into stories and photography to inspire more meaningful relationships with animals and the world around us.
